Taking the Gospel to the Streets of Madison, Wisconsin

I’m thankful for the opportunity to join a group of Emmaus University students on an upcoming witnessing trip to Madison, Wisconsin, where we’ll be taking the gospel to the streets and engaging people with the good news of Jesus Christ.
There is something profoundly biblical about stepping into public spaces to proclaim Christ. Jesus Himself often taught and interacted with people in open, everyday settings—by roadsides, marketplaces, and city streets. Scripture reminds us, “How are they to hear without someone preaching?” (Romans 10:14). Our desire on this trip is simply to be faithful messengers, trusting God to do what only He can do in the hearts of those we encounter.
This outreach is not only about sharing the gospel—it’s also about training and discipling students through real-world experience. I’ll be walking alongside the students, coaching them as they engage in conversations, offering feedback, and mentoring them in biblical faithfulness, clarity, and love. Evangelism is best learned not only in the classroom, but in the context of obedience.
Jesus didn’t merely teach His disciples and send them away; He walked with them, corrected them, encouraged them, and shaped them over time. In the same way, this trip is designed to help students grow in confidence, discernment, and reliance on the Holy Spirit. As we head into the streets of Madison, we do so prayerfully, knowing that the gospel is offensive to some and life-giving to others. Our responsibility is not to produce results, but to faithfully proclaim Christ with humility and courage.
Please pray:
-
That God would open hearts and grant repentance and faith
-
That students would grow in boldness and compassion
-
That Christ would be honored in every interaction
This trip is an exciting opportunity to invest in the next generation of gospel witnesses while proclaiming the unchanging message of salvation through Jesus Christ alone. We trust that God will use these moments—both seen and unseen—for His glory and for eternal good. Thank you for praying for us as we go, coach, mentor, and proclaim Christ in Madison.
